About us

Named after the owners son, James Blond started in 2004 as a small company attached to Thor’s Motor Company with the objective as just being a small sideline business to the established car yard. Growth however has been exponential and in late 2008 the business grew to such a point that it now takes the whole site at 4004 Great North Rd.

Right at the outset the decision was made to offer a wide range of vehicles and we have become very quickly known in West Auckland as the company that can help you with your vehicle rental needs .

 

Staff.

Although mainly a family firm with Owners John and Sarah Pedersen together with sons James and Thor helping on a part time basis they are ably assisted by Howard and the Cat all of whom have been with the firm for a number of years.

 

Cat.

Taking over as Managing Director with his arrival in 2006 Cat is one of the hardest working and lowest paid staff members whose duties include keeping the blankets warm by sleeping on them and emptying the food bowls twice a day, he is also popular (when awake) with children and has been known to play chase around the yard. Cat is available for photo oppertunities on 24 hours advance notice.

 

John Pedersen

Based on the front desk 5 days a week you are likely to speak to John when booking, uplifting or returning your rental. John has travelled extensively  all over New Zealand so if there is somewhere you want to visit be sure to pick his brain for some of the best spots.  John’s knowledge of the fleet will also help to ensure that you get the vehicle that is most suited to your needs.



Sarah Pedersen

As a joint owner and director of the company Sarah is busy with Pick up and drop off's from the Airport, Hotels and other locations as well as assisting in the day to day running of the business.
 

Thor Pedersen

Having finished school in 2008 Thor is taking some time to gain life experience before applying to join the Police force, believing that the life skills gained dealing with our broad and diverse range of clients will assist him in "people skills".

 

James Pedersen (the real James Blond)

Starting university this year James has decided to study computer science and continue working part time (grooming cars) to supplement his income, having started working for us in 2006 James has seen the company and his workload grow as the fleet has grown from around 80 to now almost 200.


 

Howard Xu

Howard started as a part time groomer back in 2005 whilst he was completing his accountancy studies (and learning English) he learnt all aspects of the business and you are as likely to find him on the booking desk as you are helping with the cleaning. And if you only speak Mandarin then you know who to ask for.

James Randell

James is our Service Manager and is responsible for ensuring that all of our vehicles are serviced and ready for a trouble free run whilst on rent.

Russell Slack

 Joining us in 2010 Russell has been employed to assist in the sale of our older rental vehicles as we are constantly updating our fleet so that we can offer you a modern fleet at an affordable rental price. If you have a trade in or require finance with your purchase we can assist in this area, so call Russell to discuss your needs.

Eric Lam

Eric has been with us since late 2009 and is also at university studying computer science. you will find Eric either on the front line or assisting with the grooming.
